Bio

Charles Burroughs’ journey into the world of cinematography has been a winding one, to say the least. At the very young age of 15, Charles premiered his first freestyle ski movie, High Step, at the IMAX theatre in Quebec City, in front of a sold-out crowd. Releasing one ski film a year from 2003 to 2007, Charles went on to win the highly coveted Vast Award, in Munich, for Best Rookie Film of the year. The experience he had acquired over all those years slowly brought him into the world of advertising. At 20 years old, Charles signed with a young start-up, Nova Film, and helped the company grow for the following 10 years. 2017 was the year when all the stars aligned for Charles. His campaign “A Bit Bitter”, for Farnham Ale & Lager, went on to win two Gold Prizes at the Toronto Marketing Awards, including Best TV Campaign of the year. The spot “Bride” for this same campaign was awarded a Bronze Lion at Cannes Lions Festival. To this day, Charles is still directing commercials for Nova Film, and is slowly but surely expanding his craft towards fashion and fiction cinema.
